Happy “almost” day 30 everyone!  We had our post- WOD today with weigh in.  We did a WOD before we started the Whole30 so we could re-test ourselves after.

The WOD was:

3 Rounds for Time

Run 200 meters

10 Push Ups

20 Sit Ups

30 Squats

My time when I did it before the Whole30 was 9:49 and today after the Whole 30 it was 8:34.  I got my measurements retaken (thank you Angela) and I lost pretty much an inch everywhere.  I weighed 152 before I started and today I weigh 147, down 6 pounds.

This was my third time doing the Whole30.  This one was very different than the other two.  I have a new job and my commute is pretty brutal so I never got the “lots of energy” feeling like the last two times.  I was also diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis during this, which explains a lot but also effected my sleep and daily routines.  It takes me a lot longer in the morning to get ready.  But the biggest change was CrossFit.  During the 1st two times I did it, I was going to CrossFit 4 times a week, during this last one, I went a total of 4 times the entire MONTH!!  But what that does show is that food is a HUGE factor in a healthy lifestyle and the Whole30 has kept me healthy (as healthy as can be).  I do miss CrossFit but I’ll get back to it as soon as I can.

At the end of the day it was a success.  I am excited to have an adult beverage and have a little more convenience when out.  I leave for vacation in 3 days and I can’t wait.  We are going to try and eat as clean as possible but I do look forward to enjoying some non-Whole30 foods.

Since I started the Whole30 I’ve lost 40 lbs and a lot of inches and I feel the best I have ever felt.  So if you’re reading this and you are wanting to take control of your life nows the time.  You are responsible for your health and there is no better time than now to start.

Day 24

Still feeling tired and waking up pretty stiff but pushing through.  Its getting harder and harder for me to get up in the morning, I think its because I know I am just going to sit in traffic and its becoming less and less enjoyable.

6:30am – had my 2 scrambled eggs with sweet potato hash

7:00am – during my lovely 2 hour commute I enjoyed my coffee, well I tried to enjoy it… lol

9:15am – had a banana with almond butter when I got to the office.  this really does make me smile 🙂

12:00pm – had my leftover shepards pie with cut up cucumbers and peppers. I had to leave the office again for a meeting.

Our meeting took longer than expected. They ordered an appetizer (spinach and artichoke dip) it smelled so good and I was hungry. I talked to the waitress and she brought me some cut up carrots and celery sticks. It worked for the time being.

I got back to the office, 4 hours later, and caught up on emails before leaving the office (later than expected). On my drive home I had an RX bar. It was perfect to hold me over until I could get home and cook.

7:30pm – TACO TUESDAY!! I made tacos with Boston lettuce, my own seasonings for the grass fed beef, homemade guacamole and salsa. It was good, definitely not as good as when I can have tortillas, etc but it did the trick.

Now that the end is rearing close I am a little nervous to eat anything not Whole30. This is my 3rd time doing this but my stomach feels so good and nervous when I eat that first slice of pizza (I am craving it) what I’ll feel like after. I want a drink but nervous about that too. It’s all in moderation. Stay strong…
